Chloe’s Story: From Just Passing to AL3 in Both P4 Math & Science

Growing in confidence, one step at a time

When Chloe first joined us in Primary 4, she was just passing both Math and Science in her WA3. The subjects didn’t come easily to her, and Science, in particular, wasn’t something she enjoyed.

That’s a familiar starting point for many parents reading this. The good news: it’s exactly the point from which real progress begins.

From just passing to AL3 in both subjects

With consistent effort, clear guidance, and a genuine willingness to learn, Chloe began to make significant progress. By the end of Primary 4, her hard work paid off:

She earned a reward for attaining AL3 in both subjects — a big improvement that gave her a real confidence boost and helped her see what she was truly capable of.

Staying strong through the P5 jump

This year, as Chloe moved into Primary 5, the content became noticeably more challenging — as it does for every student at this level. Despite the jump in difficulty, she continued to show real resilience. In WA2, she scored 67 for Math and 64 for Science — still scoring above where she started her journey with us.

That’s an important thing for parents to understand: the P5 syllabus is a real step up, and holding above your starting point through that transition is a sign of solid foundations.

The change that matters most

What’s most encouraging isn’t just the marks — it’s the change in Chloe’s attitude. With Teacher Jessie’s guidance, she has grown from disliking Science to enjoying it more and more, as she became more confident using the right concepts and scientific keywords. She’s also steadily building her confidence in Math, especially when tackling challenging word problems.

Chloe can see her own progress, and so can we. Her positive experience at LevelUp Tuition even encouraged her to refer her good friend Clara to join her in both Math and Science classes this year.
