Why does Singapore BREED 769 MILLION mosquitoes?? PSLE Science
Singapore has a building that breeds mosquitoes on purpose. 769,265,663 of them so far.
And it is to get rid of mosquitoes.
Inside, you walk the whole life cycle: eggs on paper that survive nine months bone dry and hatch overnight in water. Larvae that shed their skin four times. Pupae sorted by size, because the females are bigger. Then only the males get released.
Male mosquitoes do not bite. They drink nectar. They are pollinators. Only the female bites, because she needs the protein in blood to make her eggs.
Egg, larva, pupa, adult. That is P3 Science, and your child can now see it for real.
