PSLE Science Booklet B: two lines means two lines

One of our teachers on what she changed this week for P6 students who write too much in Booklet B.

Her classroom rule: if the question gives you two lines, anything past the second line doesn’t get read. Four lines, four lines. It sounds harsh and it is the point — it forces the planning to happen before the pen moves, so the keyword lands inside the space given instead of three lines later with an arrow pointing at it.

She also drew a border on every page, so the boundary is something a child can see, and she pushed them off full sentences onto short phrases.

The result she reports: they finish the paper now.
